The claymore isn't meant for slicing, it's meant for power.

Try holding a sword while someone hits you with a claymore at those speed, your blade will either fly out of your hand, you will drop it, you will be hurt meaning you wont be able to fight anymore (as effective) or you will have a broken hand, which will make you even less likely to be able to fight.

TBH, if that happened, you would claim your sword was cut cause it happens so fast, so it shouldn't be completely busted

with the whole blocking swords thing. most such as the katana are not ment for a full blown block. the tactic was to move out of the way and tilt the blade so when the opponet's sword hits it slides off the side and down , then you come from the other side and slice.
