Metro North train #769 arrives Ossining on September 5, 2007 with an 8-car set of Metro North 1968-vintage Budd Built M-1A cars - led by 8302. These cars were to have been completely retired except for a 36-car reserve fleet being held for future Yankee Stadium service - however since the new M-7A cars are such reliable equipment these cars are still pinch hitting for them as needed.

This train is seen here emerging from the former Sing Sing tunnel - now just a cut - which bisects Sing Sing Prison near MP 30.5 on the New York Central's Hudson Line between Scarborough and Ossining.

As the train arrives Ossining train #782 rolls south departing Ossining headed toward the big apple with a train of M-7As.

  • is that the blue line i take the red

  • there is no "blue" or "red" line. We have the:

    Hudson

    Harlem and

    New Haven lines.

Each schedule may have a color on it - but for example there are no green cars - likewise the blue bomb cars and engines routinely operate on the New Haven and the red cars can operate on any of the three lines.

  • there was at least one eight car set in service on Thursday 9/7/07 - I opposed them at MO at around 17:50.

  • Oh, and since I notice five0fan is deleting his comments once proven wrong, let me copy and paste his most recent below:

"Well, vintage is from the the 1800's. Anything from the last 50 years is not that "vintage"."

  • Really? Because the dictionary defines Vintage as:

    5. period: the period of time when something appeared or began, or when somebody was born or flourished.

So once again, you are wrong. Please open your mouth and insert your foot.

  • God you seem to love to post incorrect comments.

Tell me how the M1As that arrive on the left side of the screen are not vintage? They are over 40 years old, and the description claims them to be exactly that "1968-vintage".

    So please explain yourself.

  • the m1/m3's are wayy better than the m7's

  • nice video, its good to see M1s still running
