I loved this movie and how they used some of the clothing over and over. It has charm.

I just watch the full Emma and I must agree with the director. This version, unlike the last BBC attempt, is far brighter, merrier, and closer to the beloved book than I've come across. For my opinion, it even surpasses the Miramax production, and for the longest time, that was my favorite.

@Dancingartichoke Hey, there was Tipping the Velvet, which was written in the 2000s! Then there's the 39 Steps, South Riding, Any Human Heart, and so forth set in the 20th century. I guess the reason why the BBC doesn't make adaptations of more recent novels is because those novels haven't been time-tested.

That's why I love this version of Emma so much... They give it a certain "modernity", which doesn't take away from the beauty of the period, but rather brings it more to life and is more like people would actually act, as opposed to being so stiff with manners you couldn't wave at someone without it meaning something. BEST version, in my opinion.

Can a kind soul put the episodes on YouTube so that non-UK viewers will be able to watch it too? Much appreciated if you were to do so. Thanks!
