@khanwamiqkhan thank you wamiq, I appreciate your input. i personally don't consider the term "Mullah" as a typical religious figure. its rather a state of mind. for me a mullah is a narrow minded extremist who tries to judge everyone but himself. so it can be a minister, a blue eyed Caucasian or a brown skinned person with a long beard. This is not Faiz, its Ahmad Faraz's poem.
Mansoor was a saint whose famous saying "annl-haq" (i am truth) got him hanged by the mulla's of that time who mistook it as "i am god". Ever since he is considered as a symbol of truth and boldness. As Iqbal later wrote
Mansoor ko howa lab-e-goya payam-e-mot
Ab kia kisi say ishq ka dawa kray koe.
