You will need the app called ( ROM Manager)
once you have that, enter it and tap on flash clockwormod recovery.

Then go into recovery and clear all data and cache.
After that click install zip from sd/card and install the cm7 update.

  • When ever i download the files, they come up as winrar not a zipped file. idk if im downloading something wrong or if im just missing something. help?

  • @Jetswag24 This is because, you probably have winrar, which automatically takes over the files. Un-install winrar, then re-download the files, this should fix that problem. I hope this helped, Thank You!!!

  • I have the same phone but on Cellular South (now Cspire). Will this work the same as on the Sprint phone?

  • @smttysmth02gt As long as it is the same CDMA Hero, it will work. Thank You!

  • that app ROM manager cost 5.99 on the market now bro wtf!!!!!......you said it was free?!?!?!?

  • @CODNINJA1254 Go to 4shared.com and search ( rom manager.apk ) and download one.

    Thank You!!!

  • i got as far as the computer part with the files and then got lost

  • what is a nightly cyanogen mod

  • I may not have gotten the HTC Sense 3.0, but I got the 2.3 Gingerbread. Lost all my apps I downloaded but those can be easily attended. But half my contacts weren't on my google account so I lost that half. Woulda been nice if I had remembered to write their number down. :( thanks for tutorial though jhverdream, I subbed.

  • @JuannyTheGiant It is not necessary. I just recommend so that if anything goes wrong with the rom, you don't lose all you data or if you simply wanted to go back to stock. If you don't do a android backup, and something fails, you would have to re-install the rom or try a different one, and to get back to stock, you would have to factory reset the phone (I have a video on that if needed).

  • @jhverdream thanks for the video, worked great!! just one question, what happens if we don't do a nandroid backup??? is it necessary???
