There is great music happening in Opeth. My kid took me to see this band and I was stunned. I heard the voice that I heard when I saw Emerson Lake and Palmer back in the 70s. I heard the melodic intricacy that I heard in YES concerts and Jethro Tull. But the metal power is all current-generation stuff. That mix is so attractive and it is causing so many useless arguments. It's not worth it. Peace, peace, peace and jam jam jam...

@ozzzzy939 i guess i wasn't clear enough, sorry. That could depend on where you are, in this town that i live in (CA) most of the metal heads, or at least those who consider themselves metal heads dont recognize opeth at all, ive asked and i know, most of them ranging from 10-40 yrs old are definitely into the hype for bands like A day to remember or sky-lit drive. So no im not kidding and i highly doubt that percentage is accurate.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, so ignore whoever doesn't agree with you. Kids wont goble this up as easily as all the other screamo bands out there, not one person who considers themselves a "metall Head" knows about opeth with the exception of one kid that I know of. If you hate a band so much that's fine, but you don't have to sound like a stereotypical idiot when you express it.

@FirePower3006 If you're not fifteen your mindset is the equivalent of that age. Opeth has elements of death metal but is far from strictly limited to the genre. How about classical? There is at least as much influence there as death metal, so get your head out of your ass, realize we're all entitled to our opinions, and enjoy the music. Oh, and have a nice fucking day kid.
