(Use headphones or adjust balance slide on volume controls hear left and right channels.)

Strawberry Fields Forever earlier takes have been well documented but this video offers two studio takes as one.

Before George Martin's historical re-time re-mixes that became the final released single were mix take 25 & 26. Both versions here are in their original speeds. Take 25 has been isolated to the left audio channel while take 26 isolated to the right channel. This is Strawberry Fields Forever as of December 15, 1966 before it's final evolution to the classic single.

A raw clear and faster version. (beginning levels raised for dialogue the remaining untampered)

  • yes this is the correct speed intended. It was slowed down 7.9% for the edit.

Something was recorded at different cycles per second (Thats why the countdown at the beginning sounds weird) but this is how it was intended

  • I was 3 days old when they made this version. I love this song.

  • this is fucking great! wow never have heard this. way more intense. could even say more modern, has a bit of a head nod groove. amazing.

  • @Nacho66 sped up in the sense faster than the single we know

  • I don't think this is sped up.

I remember reading that the original was slowed down for editing reasons.

  • This version should have been on the LP... great orchestration !

  • Rehersal with Mike Collier ,1991

  • It's weird hearing it at the faster speed they really played it. Sounds great either way cuz the song's so awesome, but I prefer what they did as a creative collaboration between the band & Martin, resulting in as much an artistic creation as a song. The sound textures are different than if they'd actually performed it at the slower speed, which added a surreal edge. It's perfect.

Anyway the audio on this video is definitely the actual same tracks that were slowed down and used for the final.

  • this version is best because it's sped up i think its sounds better
