The NID was fried, coax energized, and blew a couple of RG's. Those with an eye for detail will notice that I missed releasing the voltage detector's trigger one time.

  • there is likely a booster for coax plugged into a power outlet in the house. and a super tech installed, and didnt remove that from the coax runs inside.

  • That's what I thought at first, but they were home runs. They had a history of electrical issues too. JEP. That's what I get for working on a holiday

  • so that's how you use that thing, mine is still in the bag it came in

  • keep that at your side, you never know the one time voltage will be on the line or surface. The NID @ this connection was black inside from the blast, even the insulation melted from off the ground.

  • The same thing happens with CATV or satellite.... an electrical problem inside the subscriber's home causes the electrical ground to malfunction, and goes out through the Telco ground.

  • this is my last reply to you dirtbag. Stay with ATT as long as you can and see where it gets you. You will not make a salary that you can actually live on and raise a family. You will not advance much either, unless you become a Uverse Supr which is when you will really understand the term "slave". The Union was your only hope at being treated fairly but ATT would not negotiate with their cheap labor employees. I am glad I am at the tail end of my career. I'd hate to be you.

  • @saxmanization also There is no secret regarding the employment situation with big companies. There is a mentality to get work done for Low cost labor. Hence the immigration issues in the Country. Unions are to protect rights. But MOST people are Non union In the country. Life Security Is the issue. No man but Jesus Will provide that. Everyone else is about Profit, not Prophecy. So For Today? Have peace with ALL men. Help ALL you can, and Please God.

  • @saxmanization "greater" than I? How is one man greater than another?

second, because you see me on here talking about the product, where do you think that means I am somehow Blind?

Because you see me on youtube, where does that imply I am Pro Management or Pro Union. Im Neither. I'm Pro Me. The union/management fights are nothing more that One rich man fighting with another rich man. Know this, The union Is Core and has no intent of Really helping Prems.

  • look moron, (the uverseguy) what a suck up you are. they will suck you up and spit you out just as fast as they have done everybody else. You are no more uverse guy than than a bum on a street corner. you have no pension, a lousy salary and not a good prospect for a future so you should doing more career planning because long term employees are not what att is looking for. they want contractors and low paid help period. also, be careful who you f with, he might be greater than you. fyi.

  • @saxmanization THIS is JUST the opposite. Regardless of my being on here...MAKE NO MISTAKE... I am treated Like any other prem tech is. LOL

  • @DaUverseGuy This issue has been found to be trouble with the home. this is likely a reversed neutral at the RG location. meaning the GFCI plug tester plugs into the RG location...and if the neutral/hot is swapped....along with some other grounding issues in a home, the ground is energized. And therefore the coax is energized. A grounded splitter would have helped, but the main thing is to assure the Home has No electrical problems as this one likely did.

  • DaUverseguy is really an AT&T guy. the company pays this guy to get on the internet to improve it horrible image. good luck with your decison. count me out.

  • As a 15 year veteran in the CATV world, Insight Communications, I have seen this many times...I have seen clothes dryers backfeed AC into the cable, as well as cheap TV's, such as RCA and Quasar's....
