How can a god bound by his own laws stand by and allow evil and still be good? Answer: he can't, his own laws condemn him, therefore for God to be good He must be above and beyond the laws He imposes on humanity.

In trying to understand what God meant by "He should do right", you have taken the standard of right that He has imposed on US and imposed it on Him, and as I have already shown He fails miserably. It is never right for one in authority to allow rape, murder, etc... when it is within their power to stop it. I too believe God does right, but right is whatever God does.
