The Sanyo PLC-XL50 Ultra Short Throw Data Projector is excellent, but because it's so convenient for Interactive Whiteboard use, it tends to be turned on all day everyday. The problem ends up that the fan which cools down the globe tends to suck the dust from the room up against the air filter, clogging it. This video will show you how to clean the filter and also reset the Filter Warning indicator on the projector. This was shot with a little Kodak ZX1 mini HD camera and edited and narrated with Adobe Premiere Elements - all done in about half an hour total.

  • my warning was ( is ) there very long 6-9 months i guess is that very bad ??

  • @ZaVeeRGuN Yes. If your environment is dusty, the filter will get clogged, will not be able to suck in air to cool the globe and the whole projector could overheat, killing it sooner.

  • @stuhasic i think sanyo had learned from the old very thin clear filters that they put on the old sw models 2003-2007 if you didnt clean every week or 50hrs use it would over heat good video

  • I don't believe this !! Such a dirty filter!!!!! There is already dust through it to the lences and the mirror!!

We clean if every fridaymorning before activating!! 2 minutes work and we clean the filter with the vacuumcleaner. Put the hose on the filter at the frameside, not on the filterpadge side, or you might damage it.

Cleaning is a must in a dusty enviremont.

It will also keep the beamer inside more free of dust.
