@stuhasic i think sanyo had learned from the old very thin clear filters that they put on the old sw models 2003-2007 if you didnt clean every week or 50hrs use it would over heat good video

I don't believe this !! Such a dirty filter!!!!! There is already dust through it to the lences and the mirror!!
We clean if every fridaymorning before activating!! 2 minutes work and we clean the filter with the vacuumcleaner. Put the hose on the filter at the frameside, not on the filterpadge side, or you might damage it.
Cleaning is a must in a dusty enviremont.
It will also keep the beamer inside more free of dust.

@ZaVeeRGuN Yes. If your environment is dusty, the filter will get clogged, will not be able to suck in air to cool the globe and the whole projector could overheat, killing it sooner.
