  • I really hate to be a pain, but you've uploaded it in the wrong aspect ratio. And that was the point of the documentary wasn't it? Enjoying silent comedy the way it was meant to be.

I really appreciate what you do here, and I know I come across as a thankless bastard of the worst kind, but it is somewhat jarring, having to adjust to this squeezed-in video.

  • Thanks for your comments (..... I think!). The aspect ratio is the same as how it was broadcast on BBC4 as far as I recall. Check out the colour part at the very start of the clip to see the aspect ratio for the documentary that preceded the film by way of comparison.

  • Was the guy Buster knocked out supposed to be Dead Eye Dan?

  • LMAO at him standing behind the mannequins in the beginning. LOL

  • This aspect ratio makes Buster appear marginally taller. lol

  • @bettyspinks

This music is freaking AWESOME!! Fits the film perfectly, and it would be awesome on its own, with or without the film.

    But that's just me.

  • Ugh, the music's terrible.

  • I love buster keaton!!

  • The colour video should be 16:9 so that would make the silent film 4:3 (pillarboxed) like it should be.

Maybe it's not you, but youtube who messed up?

  • It was broadcast in 16:9. This video is pillarboxed into 4:3.

This can be fixed by adding 'yt:stretch=16:9' to the tags.

  • Brilliant documentary. And the music really livens it up. Made a convert out of me.
