remember the old jug break in that spot you paused when the Darlings played it on TAGS?
-
flat picking is when you pick and do the chords at the same time.
-
flat picking don´t mean playing fast it means that the guitar is played with a

Flatpicking means playing with a pick (instead of your fingers). It is usually done relatively fast and for styles such as bluegrass.
Alternate picking means picking back and forth, alternating between downstrokes and upstrokes, usually done with one "stroke" per half beat.
So if you were playing a song with 4 beats in a measure (4/4) you'd pick "down/up" four times.

is there somewhere i can find the tab to this or is it original?

It is very similar to "Doug's Tune" by Doug Dillard. I thought it was original, but I must have heard "Doug's Tune" and had it in my subconscious. The chord progression (From memory) is
D G
D G
D G C G A D G
I do the D as a C7 position, up two frets

flat picking is an old bluegrass term that simply means playing very fast. It can be alternate picking (as I usually do) but is not limited to just that technique
