Amtrak is a joke (Acela is known to do 150 mph but needs new trains) even as compared to other non-HST trains around the world.

Amtrak trains still run on wooden sleepers in parts of the US and not all fish plates are secured either. Would you believe it!!??

@MAXwellchikenrice I really liked Duetsch Bahn. Our government (Amtrak is a government--owned company with no private affiliation, unlike the rest of the world) failed to the max with Amtrak.
