Meanwhile the credit crunch has made its impact felt far and wide, bringing the UK, Germany and Japan into recession. With China's growth hit hard, Australia is also beginning to feel the pinch, leading Kevin Rudd to declare it the equivalent of a 'rolling national security crisis'. His response has been substantial government spending at the expense of a 2009 surplus, with the promise of more 'fiscal stimulus' to come...
