the music's sweet

That's exactly right, actually. David Wise was Rare's sole in house composer up until the mid nineties, if I'm not mistaken, so all of the Battletoads games' music was composed by him. He also did all of the Donkey Kong Country games.
Shows how much talent he has, really, since the music between the NES Battletoads and this game have a totally different feel, for example.

Man the NES version of battletoads can't hold a candle to this.

epic

One of my favourite stages. In this stage Zitz has a special advantage and disadvantage; his long wind-up is invincible which means while he takes longer to attack, it can be used tactically to protect himself.

To the gazillions of people who already pointed out this is like Stage 2 from SNES BM's, sorry for ripping you off. Lol. "___"

I can't, Ultim74. This stage is similar to the second stage from the SNES Battletoads. And I have to say, this game blows that one out of the water. Better overall music, much better levels, a manageable difficulty.

Can you believe this was at one point a Nintendo-owned game near the height of their censorship rush?
Also, has anyone noticed how much this stage looks like a spinal column?

Wow at the gratuitous violence, the humor, and the sordid, veiled references. Cunning runts? Are you serious? ROFL! (Switch the c and r).
Nice work man.

Reminds me of the hollow tree level from Battletoads in battlemaniacs. Fun level.

Yeah, it's a shame that I got the crap kicked out of me though. Ironic that in the full speedrun I got through Stage 4 without a scratch...
