WOOL by Hugh Howey is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the people who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: They are allowed outside.WOOL has captivated readers across the globe since its first release and has become one of the most talked about and best reviewed books of this year. It has drawn comparisons to the likes of The Road, The Passage and The Hunger Games, with Ridley Scott acquiring film rights earlier this year. Enter this unique world and experience the phenomenon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-ardc... - Wool by Hugh Howey.

    Great, with some mistakes

    1) Stairs must be spiral and narrow. If you read the whole saga, you will understand why.

    2) The silo has about 100 levels, and numbers go from top to bottom.

    3) The visor of the helmet is covered with silver on the outside (see Wool#1) - it's neither transparent nor black..

    4) The airlock should have plastic curtains which are incinerated as soon as the cleaner leaves the chamber.

Otherwise, pitch perfect. Can't wait to see the movie movie. C'mon Ridley, hurry up!

Actually the silo is described as having 3 sections with 48 levels each - 144 levels in total - page 1, chapter 12. Floor 97 marks the beginning of the lower third on the descent of the mayor and the sheriff, Jahns and Marnes.

I'm reading it now, I believe there are three sections of 48 levels, plus the mines below.

I liked this movie better when it was called "City of Embers"

    Lower floors = higher numbers.

The "down deep" starts at 100, or something.

Great job, jendo35. Although there are a couple of technical inaccuracies (spiral stairs & level #s ascending as you descend), the rest is perfect!

You sure? I just started ready and Im almost positive that the lower numbers pertain to the floors closer to the bottom. 80th floor is at the top.

Excellent! These books are utterly brilliant and if this rather tasty trailer gets more ppl reading them then that could only be a good thing. Bah.. GREAT thing. Congrats Mr Howey for writing what is looking to be a masterpiece... Seems a certain Mr Scott has noticed too.
