  • @midaoos Then you'd be a bad boss.

  • @farflungfloyd If it's "still" holding true, that means it was true at the time. Not exactly the definition of "prescient" ;)

  • I would have killed my suboordinate if he ate my head like Humphery ate his boss'.

  • Wow, this still holds true! So prescient.

No argument but have you noticed that TV shows and stand up comics have become more coarse? They tend now to go for the fast and cheap laff. Hardly any wit. They aren't as clever. The writing and acting on this show was flawless.

  • the very best TV show anywhere, ever.

  • @agemangirl1919 Not to mention this was typical of 1970s/80s comedy. I cringe when I see those awful sitcoms where the black characters are called racist slurrs and everyone laughs. One of the things I'm glad we've left behind.

Have I offended you? I think I should say English sense of humour to be precise, not British. English is sense of humour is very rich and unique. I have not know any country possessing such national characteristics. It comprises of many elements so it is hard to discuss them all here, but what I like about this particular footage is that he states the obvious with an apparent intent to soften it when in fact he does not care about it at all.

"better as you age"? Not really. Only because you must be connecting your brain cells together very slowly over a long period of time. Or maybe you were about 6 when you started, and now you're 16. Anyhow, calling this show an example of the british sense of homour, might overstate british comedic flair. This program is the most sophisticated example of british comedy that I can currently recall. And it's pre 1990.. So over 20 years old.

  • @HMservant "grossly overpopulated and beggingfor money!" you mean Like Pakistan?
