This is neither a pro/anti-captivity video.

Yes, we all know what kind of situation Lolita is in, but we can't blame it all on her trainers. They've done nothing wrong and actually show love and compassion towards Lolita. If we need to blame anything on someone, do so towards Lolita's owner, Hertz. He's lied to the public for several years saying how Lolita will eventually get a larger tank...and "eventually" has never come.

Lolita's trainer's really show how much they care about her and sometimes, I think the public just thinks differently. Lolita will never have to worry about no one loving her, because that's the last thing that would ever happen.

  • But surely if her trainers loved her, they wouldn't let her continue to live in that tiny tank :(

  • @ShamuTrainerG The trainers don't decided whether or not she gets a bigger tank.

  • Gee, i wonder why none of you even protest at the MSQ on Saturdays at 12:00PM. Oh wait, thats right they cant free her because of kieko's death! Keiko A.K.A. free willy couldnt even get his own fish when he was freed, he died 5 years after his freedom. Know your shit before you continue talking crap to MSQ.

  • @ProtoZero67 Well, considering that I don't even live any where near Miami or Florida that would seem impossbile. Keiko's death doesn't even have anything to do with her. I didn't say that she had to be freed, although I'm sure it would be better for her. It would just be nice to see her in a larger tank instead of that fishbowl. Or even with other whales like her.

  • good video, who sings that song???

  • Carrie Underwood

  • I work at the seaquriam, I'm truley about to quit. Half of there workers are about to quit. due to lollitas captivity

  • Lets put Mr Hertz in a cage and leave him there for 30 years, then say he's better off like that because he's been there so long. Wonder if he'd say he'd like to be free??? Even better, don't let him talk to another human for 30 years...give him some chimpanzees for company like they give Lolita some dolphins....well chimps are close enough arent they Mr Hertz???? Why would you need real human companionship eh!! How much money have you made off poor Lolita !!

  • If the trainers truly loved her, they'd stand up against Arthur Hertz for Lolita.

  • @Splashlover I know, but surely if they loved her enough, they would all quit and protest her to be moved to SeaWorld. Hertz is a horrible man :(

  • As much as I believe people working there are just keeping the problem going... I guess without them she would have absolutely nobody. I guess they're her only reason for living.

  • actually keioko was catching his own fish and did not need the help from humans for 60days straight. if he was ubable to catch his own fish do ya think they wouldve set him free in the ocean?! if you can teach these animals to do tricks did it ever occur to anybody that u could probably respark their memory on how to catch fish?

  • Ok basically we should all donate money to build a sea pen somewere for lolita, trust me ALOT of people want her freen so therd be enough money even i think elton john signed the petiotion!!! come on!! somone make it happen!

  • Oh, and one more thing, Keiko could get his own fish. He was capable of fending for himself, and feeding himself. He got the occasional handout because he liked people, would show up and they would give him free fish. Its part of human nature to feed things. You know how many hand outs he's have to get to sustain him? Orcas eat hundreds of pounds a fish per day. That right there says he wasn't completley dependent on people still. Keiko died a happy whale free and wild like he should be.

  • more stimulating environment. You would have to be a complete idiot to not realize that Miami Seaquariums area for her is completley inadequate. Its not even twice her length, she can't swim in a straight line, and she has no companions other than 2 dolphins which dont count. There is no reason to keep her at MSQ, unless your a selfish bastard named Hertz who still needs her to make a profit.... hes gonna keep her there until she dies, and collect insurance. Lolita you will be free 1 day.

  • .... continued from last post: Lolitas family is. She belongs to L-Pod in WA State and her mother is still alive. That automatically gives her a better chance. Second, Lolita would be taken care of by people who are experts and have her same veterinarians and trainers so she would feel comfortable through the whole process. If releasing her back to her family doesn''t work, she could live out her life in a seapen where she could still communicate with her family members and have a larger,..
