The word for "world" is indeed the word aeon for age. However, the age of which Jesus foretold the ending was the present Jewish age with its animal sacrifice system. It did end in 70 AD

There will be a rapture and it is written: "The DEAD in Christ WILL RISE FIRST, then, WE WHO REMAIN will be caught up..." It wouldn't surprise me if we are in the "end times" with all the false christs and the millions of ways scripture is butchered by these people that go along thinking that they are somehow less guilty of sin than the rest of us.
