I see your point. Still. I hunger for a modern Marx Brothers.
-
Well, that did happen in Airplane! and other ZAZ films. The problem is if comedies are too simple, it's easy not to put effort into them. These guys are slackers.
-
Well, I mean, there were pop-culture references, just not quite so much as in the others. Still, Airplane is funnier, I'll admit. I think I just hunger for a simpler time of comedy, where there didn't need to be love interests and people could suffer severe bodily harm without lasting damage for the sake of cheap laughs.
-
Well, I didn't say they weren't in the same genre. The difference is how funny they are. Airplane! put irony into it's jokes, puns, and yes, pop culture references.
-
Oh, but that simply isn't true! Why, these movies are on the exact same class as Airplane. Actually, no, they're not quite the same. We'd have to factor out the pop-culture references that so abound in these movies. Nonetheless, the humor is about the same.
-
Now it's even longer.
This will probably get spammed.
-
It's not the fact that they had no plot. Airplane! had no plot. They have no comedy.
-
I'm, like, the only person in the world who likes these movies. I appreciate a comedy with no plot. You don't get them lately. It's basically stuff like "Horsefeathers" and then this. Prove me wrong. I'd be happy to see some more funny movies.

Those two couldn't think up an original movie that doesn't make all the characters look like complete idiots if there lives depended on it!!!!!!!
You fail at spelling.

Wow...Freidberg Seltzer here.
(Cole will know.)
This is True Genius. It's funny, where Freidberg and Seltzer can't get comedy right, they sure can inspire it.
Wow this is a long comment.
