8-29-2010 I was informed by cpm6miller that this is NOT
Buckwheat Zydeco, but instead Rockin' Sydney. I apologize for the mistake. When I recorded the song many years ago it was tagged Buckwheat Zydeco and I didn't know enough about Cajun music to know it was wrong. Thank you Chris (cpm6miller)

  • Why make a tribute to Buckwheat and use Rockin' Sydney's song and Rockin' Sydney's recording? I don't even know if Buckwheat recorded a cover version of this. You do realize that that man on the screen is not the one singing and playing. It's misleading and not fair to Buckwheat nor the late Rockin' Sydney. At the end you say thanks for listening to Buckwheat Zydeco...completely FALSE. This is Rockin' Sydney! Oh...and Buckwheat (Stanley Dural) is still alive!

  • Thanks for the info. All this time I thought this was Buckwheat Zydeco. Apparently everyone else thought so too. None of my "musical expert friends" ever brought this to my attention.

Some expert friends you have. I'm from Norway and even I knew that this is Rockin Sidney (Sidney Simien). The single was released on the Epic label in 1984 and it was a hit for him and stayed on Billboard's Hot Country Singles for weeks in 1985 I believe. I don't remember it's peak position though. It's such a great song and you could buy t-shirts and underwear with My Toot-Toot printed on.

  • Sounds like home. I'm from Breaux Bridge Louisiana currently retired in the cental highlands of Mexico.
