In 1890, Sadie McMullin during a fit of insanity threw Delia Brown Age 6 and Nellie May Conners age 8 off of the Railroad bridge over Murder Creek in Akron, N.Y.
After trial, Sadie was committed to the Buffalo State Insane Asylum in Buffalo, New York for a period of two-years.
According to her nephew and biographer Mark Saglian, after she was released, she vanished with out a trace and was never seen or heard from again...

  • Hi Mark. This is Eric, Crystal Fuller's husband. I don't know if you remeber me. I was just searching for Buffalo History and clicked on this video and was shocked to see you in it. Very awesome. I am very much into Buffalo history, ghost happenings and architecture and loved hearing about this story. If you have any other info on this written up or anythingI, iwould love to see some of it. Thanks Mark and take care.

  • I live in Akron. I will definitely be checking out these places over summer. I've been to Akron Falls Park a million times and must have walked right past the spot where this happened and didn't even know. Is St.Theresea's the cemetary that is on John St?? I now go to college in Buffalo, so I want to check out the Psych Ward, and also I heard that Sadie stayed at 1324 Michigan Ave in Buff for a while. Idk but this story fascinates me. I will be doing further research.

  • @froggiekisser87 i forgot what its called but they thought part of the frontal lobe of your head causes you to act insane. So they operated on the patient and extract the front part of your brain and which causes you to basically not think for yourself.

  • does any one know any thing else about sadie im doing a class project on her... i was wondering if any one knew what happened to her. and does any one know what kind of treatment went on at the asylum???-

  • Did they havea child?

  • so people dont even bother to hop it in the middle of the night when their are no security guards out there?

  • I basically live in the front yard of the Richardson Complex (on Forest Ave) and I also worked on the campus for awhile. I can tell you that it's nearly impossible to get into and very dangerous for that matter. Any attempts to jump the fence would definitely be seen by campus security and even if you got in the building's outermost wings are very unsafe. Crumbling brick etc. This is a building you admire from the outside. Oh and I've never felt it was haunted. Just seems sad...

  • Interesting. You seem to have some background information on this case - do you recall where you found the info on Sadie marrying her attorney? I am Sadie's nephew, featured in the Powell video. Thank you.

  • So is this gravesend asylum?

  • what the hell made her do some s**t like dat for.
