@TheTwollocks yes of course throwing a brick nce is easy and we all keep one handy. of course a brick can defeat armour designed to stop an rpg. what were those terrorists thinking?all they need is a brick!
@joeschmojo He can not 'overthrow' Congress as you state it because they have the power to Impeach him. However, he does control the US Military which is bound by LAW (passed by Congress) to 1) Defend and Protect the US Constitution and 2) Obey the President of the United States. Why would 535 people be charged with commanding a military versus 1 person? You cant wake 535 people up at 3:30AM to convene Congress to vote on an immediate military decision. I'm not delusional, I'm educated.
@joeschmojo The President of The United States of America is the Supreme Commander of the United States Military, not the US Congress. (Article 2, Section 2 of the United States Constitution) Only Congress can formally Declare War, but the President is the "Commander-in-Chief". He is the most powerful person in the world. Oath of Enlistment in the US Military: " . . .I will obey the orders of the President of the United States..." it does not mention Congress at all.
@joeschmojo Granted, his legal powers aren't that many. No doubt an absolute monarch, for example, has more power in his own county. However, as the head of state of a superpower (the only one in the world, at that), the president wields an absolutely massive amount of influence and soft power. I can't think of a more powerful person.
