The Anglican District of Virginia hosted Archbishop Robert Duncan of the Anglican Church in North America as the first speaker in its "Anglican Insights" series. The event was held at The Historic Falls Church in Falls Church, Va., on March 13, 2010. This video is part one of six.
@jrcbradshaw Anglicans in the US are called Episcopalians, Bishop Duncan is head of the Anglican Church in North America, a splinter group from the US Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada for those individuals uncomfortable with gay priests and female bishops, and which is not in communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury and is part of the Anglican Communion.

@jawedfife minority? The vast majority of Anglicans in the United States and Canada are still members of their national churches belonging to the Anglican Communion (Episcopal Church and Anglican Church of Canada).

You that have a traditional Anglican (Reformed Episcopal Church, A.C.N.A., etc.) or Confessional Lutheran or Eastern Orthodox parish, in your area, should be very grateful. In many places there is no such presence & the mainline Anglican or Lutheran church has apostacised. One comes to take one`s local church for granted, but THAT is not a good thing to do. I became Roman Catholic for lack of any Eastern Orthoox, Anglican, or Lutheran presence. It is a bad deal!

@jawedfife Episcopal Church in North America still exists as a minority officially recognized by Canterbury, but the living church is now Anglican and associated with third-world church. Anglican Mission in America is another linked-in group associated with diocese of Uganda and Rwanda, but that is changing too as they become more American-focused.

Not anymore. American Anglicans are part of ACNA, Anglican Church in North America, and are comprised of formerly Episcopalian churches which left TECUSA over Biblical heresy issues related to the innerrancy of scripture, the ordination of practicing homosexuals, and the support of abortion, to name a few. Now an Anglican entity, Not clear how will be recognized by Canterbury.
