COMMENT AND RATE this amazing video of paddlefishing at Intake, Montana. The fish is a ancient plankton eating fish with a big paddle for a nose. I caught a 51pound 45 incher that took 4 days to get along with one carp and a goldeye. After all the hard work its worth it. The fish is good eating not fishy!!! The other paddlefish is only 18 pounds!!! I hope you enjoy my adventure,, I'LL be back!!!!!

  • Current threats

Paddlefish are targeted by poachers for their valuable eggs, and are protected by law over a large part of their range. Habitat destruction is also causing their numbers to decrease more rapidly. Paddlefish need free flowing rivers that have shallow pools with sandy, rocky bottoms for their spawning. Water temperature is also important for spawning. Modification of rivers by the construction of dams, dredging, and water removal for farming reduces paddlefish spawning grounds.

  • Thats so great great, what a fun experience can't wait for my next go-round. 51lbs. was amazing to catch in Montana with just one fish. I will do it again and I can only hope you will go again. Fishing is so great across the USA.
