Leonard Cohen in Gent 20th August 2010
Like in last year's concerts the final song before the interval, during which we had hardly time enough to get ourselves a beer.
Again Leonard Cohen introduced the members of his band to the crowd by giving them some solo time with the by now familiar elevated appraisals: from Barcelona, on the banjolio, the great virtuoso Javier Mas ... on keyboard, saxophone and the instrument of wind, the master musician Dino Soldo ... on pedal steel guitar, on vocals, on the electric guitar which stitches the verses one to another, my old friend, the irreplaceable Bob Metzger ... on drums, our timekeeper, a poet, a priest, the prince of precision, Rafael Bernardo Gayol ... on keyboard and the hammond B-3, our composer and arranger, a teacher, the foremost exponent of the heavenly three, the impeccable Neil Larsen ... on vocals, co-writer of many of my songs, my collaborator, the incomparable Sharon Robertson, ... on vocals, harp and acrobatics, Charley and Hattie Webb, the sublime Webb sisters ... on bass and vocals, our director, my musical colleague for 35 years, the much-cherished and incurable Roscoe Beck. How high can you praise some one!
"during which we had hardly time enough to get ourselves a beer."
