This is the strangest thing i've never seen before.
Sep 12 2008 near Mexico City.
*edit* I have a complete HD version of this but... i hate stuff thief. Any opinion?

Those who replied its a pileus cap are correct. This happens when rising clouds meet a layer close to saturation, which layer is lifted by the growing cloud underneath. Eventually the lens shaped cloud is often punctured by the growing cloud a ceases to exist. The growing cloud often becomes a thunderstorm. It is a natural phenomenon and I have seen it. The colours are due to difraction by ice crystals and in this video they are absolutely stunning.
