because it costs money.
There are plans to make it a normal interchange for motorways. The A6 will connect directly on the A7 to Groningen (to the east). While the A7 to the Afsluitdijk (the west) will become an exit (which is ready for 130kmh).
They'll start making the intersection at the end of 2013. I don't know when it will be finished.. I'd guess it takes about 6 months to complete?

op 3:15 is echt een vreselijk stuk tot 3:50daar gebeuren zoveel ongelukken en staat zo vaak file...

Roundabouts as interchanges are old fashioned ,not to say very dangerous
