Ico is NOT wander from SOTC, ICO is a spiritual sequel. The most common theory is that Wander just started the lineage of horned boys. There is too much evidence against wander --> ico, such as the dozens of crypts that already had their sacrifised horned kiddies :P If you play the game through there is a scene that enlights this thing.

Sotc is supposed to be a prequel to Ico because at the end Wander grows horns but is killed and somehow he is born again in the pool that the shaman cast the sword into its really complecated Ico and the legend of zelda time line are kinda hard to under stand. its not for sure but people just assume that ico is wander from Sotc wich i could imagine he probably is if there is a sotc 2 that should explain it.

Ico definitely has a stronger storyline, like you said, though I still like SOTC because of the design, and I'm a bit of an art lover. In a way it's not surprising it's not as exciting because it's just illustrating the legend behind Ico...
I've yet to finish Ico (I just got the game a few days ago) though I'm sure if the Ico team banded together again, they'd make it epic. lol, it's all good. XD

And,in ICO you can be free to do what you think is right,and on SOTEC you have to do the same thing:killing giant,killing time attack,and end...I think if they wait more 2 years to do a Ico2,will be great(But not one like SOTC..xD)...
