@GreenleeGhassan I felt the same way about this film the first time I saw when I was younger. Now I have come to appreciate it for the beautiful film it is!

Loved the book better.The movie was rushed & was missing a lot of important details but wasn't a bad movie. As a person who loves drama and romance, this movie is simple but beautiful and heartbreaking and I wanted more. Sadly, Vermeer loved what he does(painting) and his work more than anything. I don't even think he loved Griet.To him, she was an art, he adores her but only as a painter appreciating beauty in art and not as a man having affection for a woman. Yes it's a beautiful movie.Colin Firth is really sexy in this movie (maybe because he's a painter... Hmmmmmmmm!!!!)
