very melodic beautiful piece, inspiring, played with feeling; first class performance.

Everyone is going to have thier favorites. I've heard this piece played countless times by different players for decades and I like this version the best. HIs lush pacing seems a perfect fit for this peiece.
I've heard many other fine performances, but some seem a bit rushed while others goin the opposite direction and seem too slow. Russel's version leaves me feeling I got the most out of this work.

i don't know.. i don't like russell playing barrios

this piece is very difficult to play. Demanding in a musical way. Any good classical guitarist can play "the notes", it's not that hard, but the rhythm... especially, the constant rubato.... that's another question. I personally prefer William's version, but this is one is also flawless. Great guitarist.

as is beautiful and well played.

david russel is so expressive, much more so than Williams and many others this is why I prefer him.

Does anyone but me hate the comparisons game? I don't mean the commentaries about varying interpretations, but the simplistic 'he's better, she's better' nonsense, especially when it involves sports metaphors. Russell is a genius, but other people also have something to say about this piece.

Music has no class nor social status. It's THE universal language. If you can't sit back and just enjoy the music, then I hope you have an interesting life with your narrow attitude towards music.
