Cincinnati OH
Hamilton Co.

Alert cycle for all warnings is 5 minutes.

Sirens normally do not sound for Thunderstorm Warnings, but if a Tornado Watch is issued and then a Thunderstorm Warning is issued, the sirens sound.

The storm had already moved through the western part of the county and was headed east. The Thunderstorm Warning was issued after it had pasted over downtown Cincinnati and was cancelled 15 minutes later as the storm had weakened below severe limits. I'm a happy camper though, I finally got a warning cycle online :)

Sirens heard; Federal Thunderbolts 1000 & 1000t's, Federal DC 2001 SNRB's & American Signal sirens.

  • Hi

The sirns of america are very intresting cause you have man sorts and sounds of them, very powerful.

l live in Germany ,in Ludwigsburg, and we havent any of our sirens leftAll 32 were remove in the year 1997If an catastrophe is coming up we onl can alarm with radiostations or at least by mobile sirens on fire trucks or police cars thats all.But in my home county (Kreis Heilbronn) there are 90% of all sirens they run for alarms and tests.(All sirens are the german normal-siren E57).

  • One of my best friends is from Germany, and she leave to go back in the end of March. She's from Dresden. If you watch my most recent clip, we act goofy and she speaks both Russian and German :)

I love our eclectic array of sirens :)

  • what was that sudden sound at 2:31?

  • wow i live in ohio

  • Hahaha I love the firecracker! I bet the county wanted to set off the sirens for fun XD. But still, love that sound. Sort of makes me float in the air like floating on water.

  • Well thats freaky. Sirens on the 4th of July.

  • Those tornado sirens have always given me the creeps, ever since 1974, in Ft.Thomas, Ky. We had one on the church up the street but back then they were only used when a warning was issued (a tornado was spotted - not for thunderstorm watches). It meant "get down in the basement - south-west corner - NOW!

  • id be excited i lllloooovvveee tornados
