This was filmed at a free concert for Elimination of Racism Day & Cultural Diversity Week, featuring a line-up of Australian Indigenous, Melanesian and African music and dance.
This clip shows 4 acts:
1) Narasirato - Solomon Island Pan Pipers 2) Uncle Herb Patten 3) Birri-on Laskidjeka 4) King Bell & Soukous Ba Congo
Uncle Herb Patten, a local Koorie identity descended from the Kurnai tribe, was particularly interesting. He has played the gumleaf for over 50 years and has twice been on Channel Seven's "Australia's Got Talent" show. Check out this clip of Herb. Go Herb go!!!

This is excellent, thanks for posting it. Just one thing...there is no "S" in Birri-on Lakidjeka. Oh yeah, and the didj player for Birri-on is a young guy called Mathew Weegberg, keep ur eye on him, he is brilliant.
WHAAAAT? Solomon island music,Indigenous Australian music AND SOUKOUS MUSIC too???? Man,I missed out on the show of a lifetime,my heart is broken haha! Please consider tossing in a few more clips of any and all performances from that great show, wow!!!!
I look forward to the day when diversity in humanity is celebrated as being beautiful and fascinating instead of being a vehicle of separation. Great vid Guan and lovely to see such a festival happening.
