River That Goes Through Trenton

Performed Feb. 18, 2009 at Cambridge Inn, Spotswood, NJ - composed August 2008

Song was inspired after my daughter, a college student, was in the intensive care unit of a hospital from a severe reaction to peanuts. She's fine now , thank God!

This traumatic experience, combined with the early death of my mother when I was just a little bit older than my daughter is now, inspired me to write a song about the importance of treasuring the people you love while they are here on earth and to describe the sacred place of peace that I found over 20 years ago in Trenton. All I could see from the rocking chair where I nursed them in our house on Lamberton Street was the river. The beauty and grace of it combined with joy of the nurturing my babies to connect me with a deep sense of love and joy that I am certain my mother would have felt for us if she lived to meet her granchildren.
