Great interview with Amy Lee - Part 1

We have a backstage interview with Amy Lee at the Pinkpop Festival in June 2003. She talks about the bands sudden success, humble beginnings, frozen atmosphere and positive outlook. She also explains to us the story behind the single 'Bring Me To Life'.

"Someone just said something to me once and I blew it way out of proportion for the song but I was going through a very hard time in my life and I was totally in denial and I met someone that day and he asked me "are you happy?" It shocked me and made me reevaluate everything that was going on and that's basically what the song is about; finding something that you want to live for."

You guys, along with Coheed&Cambria, Metallica, and a teensy bit of Slipknot, are my songwriting insperation. I'm twelve, and am writing lyrics for concept/prog/goth metal, and I'm trying to piece together a band. And as Amy said: In a world where every song needs to be peppy, and something to 'dance' to, goth and metal is hard to make.

But you guys, and the rest of those bands are such insperation, and I thank you. Wish me luck, youtubers!
