@aferg76 And his wife looks biracial herself. FYI, MOST black Americans have mixed race ancestry. This is how the break down goes a little over 70% black, almost 20% white, and less than 5% Native American. Vanessa Williams has 2 black parents, but since there was a white ancestor somewhere in her blood line she ended up looking biracial, but she's actually not. Both of her parents are black. She doesn't have one white parent and one black parent.

@aferg76 Not all biracials call themselves black. Biracials are not black and their experiences as a biracial person cannot be compared to the experiences of a black person. When America was segregated and even long afterwards, biracials said they were black and considered themselves black because that's how they were treated. It didn't matter that they had white ancestry. White people treated them like a black person so that's who they identified themselves with.
