I rented a flute back about 15 years ago and self taught myself to play Jethro tull songs, Ok was nowhere near as good as Ian but hey the love is there, Pity ians voice has totally gone, I so wanted to see them live. However after hearing some live performances from the last few years I am glad I have my memories, cause he has lost his voice totally. He still plays the flute like a demon but vocals gone.

Few, if any create such a beautiful vocal melody line in [lclassic prog anyway] their songs, with the fountain-of-youth consistency of Ian A. Ian is a master at varied colorful vocal stylings. Most do some simple blues pattern, Ian SELDOM does. Queen, Floyd and others do pretty well also IMO. If you listen to the entire 40 year catalog, the diversity is amazing...
I'll stand by Jethro Tull.

my dad showed me Jethro Tull, loved em ever since. Beastie, Locomotive breath, Aqualung, Jack in the green, and Jack frost and the Hooded crow are my favorites.
Flute = Epic.

One of my favorites from Jethro Tull, Band is entirely under-appreciated. Which is why I feel privileged to be a real fan!

@TheFrickinPope Maybe just recognition for being single minded?

@slaggy666 Todays music is comercial drivel designed for those lacking in individuality.
