Women's Ski Jumping was denied entry into the 2010 Olympics by the Internataional Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Ski Federation (FIS) - Is this a case of Social Injustice???? It would certainly appear so! Please write to the IOC and FIS to express your concerns.
Thank you!

  • This short film is not very useful without the audio track. Maybe you could remix it so it does not run afoul of YouTube rules so we can hear the commentary.

  • they had time to meet the minimum criteria and failed to do so. its like expecting an A for a missed project. no one gets a free pass anymore.

  • there hasnt been a world cup because their not encluded in that either. they should go to 2010

  • Of course there is discrimination in sports. For example, recently FIFA (the Internationa Federation of Association Footbal/Soccer) tried to ban high-altitude international matches. The thing is that this ruling affected only certain places/stadiums in the world, such as Bolivia, a small and poor country in South America. The beneficiaries were Brazil and Argentina, big copuntries with powerful ties to the FIFA, ironically, based in Switzerland too, like the IOC.

  • they really should be focusing their energy on FIS, not the IOC. Don't blame the IOC for the shortcomings of your international federation. The video claims that the sport is more developed than others on the program, but the IOC judges the development of a sport on their world championships, and if you don't have one, you're not a developed sport.

  • It's "their" time, not "there" time.

  • Why exclude women's Ski Jumping? Because there hasn't yet been a World Championship, or even a World Cup. I mean, the highest level of competition for women ski jumpers was the continental cup (the continental cup is to the world cup what the MLB is to AA Baseball). How can you possibly include a sport to the Olympics if there hasn't even been a single World Cup event yet? Anyway, expect women's jumping at the 2014 winter games. Not earlier, not later. There time will be 2014.

  • I don't see what is the point in such obstructionism? If girls/women compete in all other ski diciplines, why exclude jumping?

  • And where I can sign the petition?

  • sign the petition to help the women's team
