David Malone http://golemxiv-credo.blogspot.com author of The Debt Generation, http://www.debtgeneration.org directs and present this film. Part 2 of High Anxieties - The Mathematics of Chaos looks at the discoveries of the French mathematician Henri Poincare and his work on the three body problem and how this threatened to undermine the view that the world was an essentially knowable and therefore predictable place. Professor June Barrow-Green and the French mathematician David Ruelle discuss the implications of Poincare's work. This part of the film looks at how Poincare's discoveries were essentially ignored and as the first world war commenced military leaders looked to the science of ballistics to bring order to chaos. The director and producer of the film are David Malone and Mark Tanner who are also respectively author and editor of The Debt Generation.
