what?

only 9 seconds ahead but still it's amazing.

@12rtp Very good explained... but just to make it more exact, "most" of the people are affected by O2 @ 1.6pp... Its possible to go further, like in the hyperbaric chambers when someone is treated of deco illness or inhaling CO... But then you risk the convulsions (no problem if you are out of the water AND a doctor beside you like in a hyperbaric chamber)

It is not the fact that is pure O2 that makes it toxic. O2 is toxic at a pressure > 1.6 ATM. In scuba diving this happens after 70m. The air you breathe is 21% O2. Pressure at 70m = 8ATM. The partial pressure of O2 is 21% X 8 = 1,68 ATM and it is toxic. But if you breathe pure oxygen which is app. 100% O2 it becomes toxic at 6m. Pressure at 6m =1,6ATM. Partial pressure of O2 is 100% X 1,6=1,6 ATM. That is why it forbidden to inhale pure O2 in free diving! But now the diver is on the surface.
