Ron English is a genius!!!

barney vs godzilla

Using Bill Gates for that Apple spoof was genius and he has a point about how the historical figures used in their ads may not have approved of their image being used at all, so why not just flip it and stick Charles Manson up there. I mean who's to say who the hell has the right? Fuck the arrogance of these big ad monsters.
Damn I passed him in the street the other day, should have given him some major respect but I flaked it.

I really wish he would put some of these billboards up in my town
-
I loved his work until he made a deal with Viacom. bad move for a fake
-
after all this shit he's against, why not take the kids out to have a fucking happy meal eh?
-
it's a double rainbow

If others followed his example in enough numbers, it would be significant. Better one or a few people do this than no one. However minimal, it is at least some kind of push back against the corporate lies and propaganda that we drown in every moment of every day. Viva Ron English!

Yeah I love how he feels like he's accomplishing something amazing. I'm so sick of all this anti corporate sentiment.
Not to mention, he can't say whatever he wants even if he DOES rent the billboard. They'll deny him the privilege of putting his art on the billboard if it's controversial. By stealing the space he can say whatever he feels needs to be said.

You don't get the point. The average person can't possibly compete with the corporations for ad space. Corporations may be made up of "people," but only the elite in those corporations are in control. And their only motive is PROFIT. Not the good of the people, profit. That's the point. You may disagree and think that he should purchase the billboard space, but you can't pretend like corporations promote the interests of people just because they are made up of people.
