I Swear, I'm Not The Devil

This video explores 3 of the main people affecting Sam's life during Season 4; Ruby, Dean and Sam himself. The first verse focuses on Ruby's efforts in manipulating Sam to trust her. Although she's a demon, she swears she's not evil, that her plans are in Sam's best interests and she pleads with Sam to trust her. The second verse is Dean, whose efforts to make Sam turn against Ruby pushes Sam further and further away. Dean begs Sam to kill Ruby, stop drinking demon blood and not to use his powers anymore, trying all the while to assure Sam that he's trying help him and isn't being unfair or unkind. The final verse is Sam's. He is torn between Ruby and Dean - he understands both points of view but he realises he has to take a side. Both people are aiming toward the same goal, just in different ways, but Sam doesn't know which path to take. He is also tormented by his demonic abilities, knowing that he shouldn't use them but also secretly enjoying the power they give him. He tries his hardest to convince himself that he's not the devil - but inside he knows there's a part of him that just might be...

This video is dedicated to the awesomeness that has been the Supernatural Video Station (2007-2010). It's the place I grew as a video artist (I owe everything to the mods and members over there) and also the only online community that I've ever really felt part of and involved in. I'm sad to see it go offline, but in celebration of it's 3 epic years online, I decided there was no more fitting way to say goodbye then to vid Supernatural :)
