Enough excitement for the day, I'm headed for the rocking chair.

I think the "hippie Porsche" won that year.

I cannot say that I do not like the Langheck 917. It had been the ultimate Porsche Design for Speed at this time - it reminds me of some swimming stingray.

But I would have bought the Kurzheck, the Le Mans Winner, the most sexiest and successful Racecar ever built, and of course - the 917-10 and 917-30.

Vic Elford did not win the real 1970 24hr race but he took pole position and recorded the fastest race lap with car No.25, 917L. Hans Herman and Dick Attwood won in the red Austrian Salzburg No.23, 917K. (It is not seen in the movie) Vic Elford could be called the most talented alround motor racing star never to have won Le Mans. His car retired after competing over 220 laps in the real race, car No.25 can be seen in a lot in the film, the car was the second Salzburg entrant.

The 1971 winner was the Martini 917, but anyway the most awesome race cars from the year I was born must of been epic.

yes, they are. John Wyer cars just about always had the same paint scheme. Wyer used the same paint on his Ford GTs and Mirage cars(which were mostly modified Fords).

the Porsche 917/30 Can Am cars were fast beauties as well, so look them up.
