@cfavreau Wow Gun Scrubber works great, thanks !

You could probably get 99% (less H20) alcohol and unscented acetone at a local hardware store -- I'm going to give your trick a try as commercial flux remover is pricey.

My,my, I just haven't the foggiest notion what your talkin' about Calvin. By the way, thanks for nothing. Happy year though.

We use Gun Scrubber available at Walmart. It works much better than the commercially available flux removers. Just don't use it on PVC plastics... or don't use it inside. Use it outside and stream it down the board. It is a little pricey (I think $5 to $8 a can) but can be found at any Walmart.

"lemon flavored nail polish remover"?¿? Did you drink it to find that out? haha anyway I like using acid when working on antiques or cars, 192 for through holes, and water soluble flux on 0.020 parts. The trick with water soluble flux is to get it all over the lead. no don't dump it on there, just enough to coat the lead. I have one trick for cleaning flux from circuits boards but I'm keeping that to myself... good videos!
