We live in a knowledge-based economy where technology defines the direction of virtually every industry, from medicine to entertainment. At NJIT, technology permeates all aspects of student life.

Small classes and professors with advanced industry experience allow you to make your education as personal as you want. The student--faculty ratio is 13:1; and of the 416 full-time faculty members, 98 percent hold the highest degree possible in their fields.

NJIT offers 92 degree programs through six professional schools and colleges. You can double major, design an interdisciplinary major, opt for an accelerated bachelor's or master's degree program, and cross-register at nearby schools such as Rutgers University--Newark and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Even if you can't make it to campus, an NJIT education is within reach. Every semester, thousands of students from near and far pursue undergraduate and graduate courses on-line through our extensive distance learning, Weekend University, and Continuing Professional Education programs, which are conducted in Newark and at extension sites throughout New Jersey.

For undergraduates, the most popular majors include architecture, engineering, and computer science, and for the past several years, student interest in the sciences and liberal arts has been steadily increasing. Our accelerated bachelor's and master's programs are gaining in popularity every year as well.

At the graduate level, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, and civil engineering are all hot areas, as are computer science, information systems, mathematical sciences, environmental science, management, and architecture.
