If only we could find mother You might not have died, mother You might have still been here today If ships didn't pass by, mother You might not have died, mother You might have still been here today And she danced the dance with death, my friend Her children watched frowning at the end As she drew her last breath and died The children heard her crying, crying, crying…
And as the sea grew black Along the coast Mud and feathers everywhere The people passed by With smiles on their face For them the beach still mattered most And she danced the dance with death, my friend Her children watched frowning at the end As she drew her last breath and died The children heard her crying, crying, crying...
@acacacacasasasas Hello, friend... I just now saw this message, so, if you still want the lyrics, here they are: Seagull, with oil on her wings Can't fly away Won't see her children anymore And as the tide goes down Dead sea where she laid Won't see their mother anymore And she danced the dance with death, my friend Her children watched frowning at the end As she drew her last breath and died The children heard her crying, crying, crying...
My older sister was a huge fan of Dave Edmunds when I was growing up and used to play his albums in our bedroom. I'm now 46 but grew up knowing and loving this song although, as a child, it used to make me sad!. I hadn't heard this song for years and it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and still brought tears to my eyes. Great visuals too - well done kanjar56 and thank you for putting this on YouTube..

Very nice song, written by Paul Korda - I like the original version a little more.
