@acparso try living in freezing England, lol. Its always grey and we are confined indoors for most of the year. I meant that to live somewhere with a warm climate must be great, I'm not saying that everyone in Australia has perfect lives.

@Artistresearcher You say that, but I grew up in Australia, and I think you may be romanticizing it a little. It's just a place, like any other.

The two boys who were in a children's home at 7 are so lovely. The Australian one lacks confidence in himself because of the scars of being abandoned but that's what makes him so special. I'd love to have grown up in Australia.

I think Nicholas has grown very much and very well. He has overcome his shyness, and is a deep thinker.

I think 21UP was done really well. each person had a good amount of time to actually get a proper picture of who they thought they were and where they thought they were going (which is the point - documenting this over time? the progression to the adults of 2000?). :)

"The posh ones, oh yes, oh yes, there nuts! Just have to touch them." (swipe of the arm)
Even at the age of 7 kids know class differences, I remember kids in my school whose parents were teachers and nurses and I could tell they looked down upon me, even at that age.
