Learn how to defend yourself if an attacker grabs your shirt with two hands.
Expert: Jason Hall Bio: Jason Hall is a professional martial arts instructor who teaches martial arts, tai chi, and self defense classes for men, women and children.
Do you have to weave over and between his arms? Seems too slow to me, the op might come in pushing and knee you and take you down. I used the windmill on a two handed straight arm choke from behind in a real fight (warehouse). I continued the motion 'til I had racked both his elbows with one arm, leaving my other arm free to deliver a nice bare fisted uppercut to the plexus (try it, it works). That ended the fight and it ended his bullying (he outweighed me by more than 50 lbs.). Peace.
@jd27x Good point, Jd27x. I think these videos are just a starting point to understand self-defense notions. The best is always to have a partner who also wants to learn to defend himself to practice different techniques until you have mastered them.
why not just stick your fingers in his eyes?Easier ,requires no practice, and generally, the body will react ,anyway by bringing the hands up to the face.
You do that to an experienced guy and he will have you in a rear choke as soon as you try. besides that a person who wants to hurt you will not grab you with there arms strait, they will be bent for sure.
so they can make money. When I teach classes, its 5 or 6 principles, example: kick in the balls, hit the throath, palm in the nose. THIS wil drop anyone and you dont need to spend 100s of dollars on far to many classes. reality base self defence is boring, but it works.
if both his hands are occupied... kick him in the nuts. When pumped up on zdrenaline you don't have enough controll to do any of the fancy moves most self defence instructors want to teach you. The only reason why they want to show you these complex moves is because you have to come back again and again to learn more,
I think this is a good tip, I might ad in the idea of a preliminary strike first. This can offer you the time needed to do this technique in a real life situation that is threatening but not yet up in the serious danger level yet. In a more serious case, I would suggest a quick technique to stop the opponent from attacking with a headbutt or a push/pin. Just a thought...Peace and God bless

Why not palm stike up the middle cos you know the headbutt is on its way if someone grabs both lapels.Just an opinion.
