My cover of Stevie's version from "The Sky Is Crying" album. Originally written by Lonnie Mack. I programmed the drums and recorded the bass in Cubase and then transferred it to an RC-20XL Loop Station so I could trigger the backing track with my foot. For some reason, the sound quality of the drums becomes quite poor when doing this. Playing an American Strat (built from parts) w/Texas Specials through a modded TS-9 and a Fulltone OCD going to a Super Reverb which I've handwired according to Doug Hoffman's AB763 blackface circuit design.

  • how did you get the drums from the song?

  • @hbing8 I recreated them in Cubase. Kind of a pain, though!

  • niceee playing man u really nailed it with the tone. whats your ts setup? is that modded into a ts 808?

    thanks

  • @solreva The TS-9 is a Silver Mod from Analog Man. I don;t recall exactly what the mod is, but I think you'll find it if you google Silver Mod TS-9 Analog Man! Cheers!

  • it was a hit in the early 60s and then in the 80s i guess SRV joined Lonnie and made an Lp 2gether, strike like lightning and the they made a killer cover of a killer song, Wham! but it was called double wham!. By the way the wammy bar of the guitar is called like thar ´cause of this little song

  • this is not a SRV cover. it´s Lonnie Mack for christs sake.
