Sean Whang Grad Show ACCD 2008 - BMW Backpack Scooter

This project was my grand finale project for my last senior 8th term. As a transportation designer I wondered what would happen if motorcycles stopped using gasoline and went on to electric. How would this influence the shape and style of the motorcycle? I wanted to utilize the fuel tank shape into a backpack since to my eyes every fuel tank shape is unique and beautiful on a motorcycle.
Solving small storage issues we have when we ride scooters was the main problem I wanted to tackle. Moreover, I wanted to design a scooter that actually looks cool!~~~
Rather than putting in more grills and vents to make it look sporty why not change its stance and proportion to make it a truly sporty scooter? Let the fun of design begin~

awesome design ...but I would not wanna be riding under any kind of cross wind on the backpack...too much side wind resistance...

that's a nice design / I like the way you put a lot of emphasis on BMW's emblematic design parts and curve flow... On the practical side, I am not sure if that big "lump" *the backpack) is practical wen it comes to riding something like this...
